There is no separateness.
I am her.
She is me.
Still.
Seven years later.
Seventy years later
Dear ones,
So much good has happened this week on my home front. And also, my family is about to embark upon a new season of therapy for our youngest Wild child. I feel a bit like a mama about to push her brave baby bird out of the nest. She's ready to fly. She's ready to give up the hold OCD has on her. And while I love being the center of her universe, I honor it's time to heal. Her. Me. Us.
Have you ever felt this way? As though something big and hard and and scary-beautiful was up ahead? And it’s just dancing around in the background as you do your day… your life?
Mentor Mom Moment
With perfect timing, I read this post by our very own (MFMH) Amy Brown when I was putting together this newsletter. It made me feel so very much less alone as we tackle the road ahead - and I think it might just do the same for you!
Amy writes,
There is so much riding on this job. In our minds, all the choices we make seem so important. There is a terrible insecurity that comes with mothering. We often wonder whether we are doing anything right. Being a special needs mom is even more difficult.

Digging Deeper
In line with this is an article by Lysa Tykerherst this week titled, “But How Do I Get Through the Next 86,400 Seconds?” (Thanks, Terri!) You can read it here, or just rest in this perfect, simple recap…
Breathe, friend.
Life can be hard. Grace can overcome. And perhaps… just perhaps… the aches that exist - whether front and center or just behind our eyes - are proof a beautiful remaking is in process.
Personally, this gives me hope as I am simultaneously ecstatic that we have the opportunity to begin our daughter’s therapy. And also, I’m feeling a bit timid about what I’ll uncover about me here.
Alas, I hand over the reigns and applaud you as you do the same… in any way that feels good.
Love to you,
Jennifer
Psst! My new children’s book is officially 100% illustrated as of this month!! I promise to share more soon. Inclusion matters. For us. For them.
