R E S P E C T
We can respect and honor the autonomy of others, dear one. Read on. And maybe, just maybe, you'll take a moment to feel it. To feel the profound love that exists between us all...
I am taking my annual summer hiatus from my main social media feeds; which means I’m without a significant platform to share my heart about the latest changes in the world. In my world. As a mother of a daughter. As a woman who works with birthing women and people. As a human.
I have been pro-choice since long before I knew what it meant, beloveds.
I have been pro-life since - perhaps - fourth grade, the year I heard about the works of Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, Thich Nat Hahn, Gandhi.
I have been an ally and a feminist since the day I was born.
I am madly in love with humankind.
All of us.
And so, I’m feeling this shift greatly right now. I visit sadness and sympathy and empathy and rage and frustration and compassion all within a single breath.
I love us.
It is here, that I know without a doubt God meets me. Meet us, if you’re in a similar place and space. I’m writing because there are many of us here. In this awkward space of loving God and loving people and deeply honoring people, too.
In the moments I’ve been inclined to read through my feed (when I’m not posting, I’m still present), I can see that respect and autonomy aren’t on everyone’s radar.
Let them be on yours.
Let your light shine so bright that others from all places and spaces and with all stories of all kinds feel safe in your presence, darling.
We need one another so much.
So, so much.
Thinking of you as I spend this sacred time baking muffins & exploring life with one slightly saner child (another story for another day) and one who is all tween. Bless us.
I love you,
J. 🌻 @thebarefootpreacher
P.S. feel free to share this message on R E S P E C T. Respect is another form of love, beautiful human. And love… it changes everything.
